Emma Worsley Owner of the Good Movement Studio and Pilates Instructor

EMMA WORSLEY

Studio Owner and Pilates Instructor

Emma  knew she needed to do something after bending over one day to tie up her shoe laces and could not stand back up again. Four beautiful babies and natural births had taken its toll on not only her pelvic floor, but her lower back and posture. After hobbling around with a cushion to sit on for weeks she finally found the courage to open the door of a local Pilates studio. “ I need help” she shared with the instructor standing tall before her “I don’t even know how to stand up straight anymore”…  This was the birthplace of Emma’s love for Pilates and her growing passion to share the benefits of Pilates with anyone and everyone.

Emma learned very quickly that Pilates not only helped her feel better and stronger and had her moving without pain again, it was like the unlocking of a door of understanding how good you can feel in your body. It became the springboard that made all the other activities she loved to do better. She learned that you don’t have to accept feeling average – Pilates can help in so many ways. Emma has undertaken training in Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States and has benefitted from each of these experiences.

Emma has always loved to teach and loves sharing the benefits of Pilates with her clients. She is particularly passionate about teaching Pilates to teenagers as she believes body awareness and mindful movement are such a gift at that age . Since moving to Park City she has seen the need for such an active community to have a full service Pilates Studio easily accessible. Welcome to Studio Pilates Park City.

SANDY VOJIK, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist,  Pilates Instructor, Health Coach

Sandy is a native of Riverside, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She grew up participating in gymnastics, softball, basketball, volleyball and track. Her athletic career narrowed to softball when she played at DePaul University. a Division 1 NCAA program. During her career at DePaul University, Sandy's team played in two women's college world series and finished the season in the NCAA's Top 25 rankings three out of her four years.

After graduating, playing in the National Professional Fast Pitch League for one season and completing prerequisites, Sandy was accepted into the University of Utah Physical Therapy Doctoral Program. Upon Moving to Utah, Sandy was introduced to Pilates and became immediately interested in how the movement practice could complement her athletic training.

During her physical therapy school internships, she realized the Pilates curriculum gave her the ability to see three dimensional movement. This allowed her to effectively correct faulty movement patterns in clients, thereby decreasing symptoms such as pain and discomfort.

Sandy utilizes an eclectic approach when treating clients, drawing from a foundation of knowledge based on her education, experience and self guided learning. As a facilitator for healing, Sandy gets satisfaction from seeing her clients improve their movement quality, athletic performance and overall quality of life. She knows what it is like to train at an elite level and has experienced how injury can impede years of hard work. However she also knows the resiliency and robustness of the human body and believes each client has, with in themselves, the ability to heal and progress.

Sara Benson Pilates Instructor, Functional Fitness Coach

SARA BENSON

PILATES INSTRUCTOR, Functional Fitness Trainer, Studio Manager

Meet Sara: From Upstate New York to Utah, with a quick stop in Virginia.

Originally from upstate New York, Sara moved to Utah in January 2019 with her husband and two furry friends. Sara first discovered Pilates around 2007 when she was trying to recover from injuries and foot pain caused by running. She was hooked from the beginning.

Sara is Classically trained through Power Pilates in New York and has her Pilates Certification through NPCT. After that, she pursued her fitness training and currently is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer.

She's a firm believer that the practice of Pilates and strength training are so complimentary that it might be the fountain of youth. So much so that she quit her day job in 2016 and hasn't looked back since.

What to expect in Sara's classes. If it's a Pilates class you'll probably get a bit of classical Pilates mixed with some unexpected balance and strength work. In strength training classes you might get surprised with some fun, dancing, and picking up heavier weights than you thought you could. As long as technology is cooperating you might end up rocking out to some classic 80s and 90s music and a little bit of hip hop.

Credentials: Power Pilates Instructor, NPCT, CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Weightlifting, Gymnastics, Mobility Trainer

KENZIE GROOT

Functional Fitness instructor, Pregnancy and Postpartum athleticism coach

Kenzie first developed her passion for fitness while rehabilitating from an injury that she sustained as a competitive snowboarder. During her physical therapy sessions, she began to educate herself on how the body works. Her studies brought her to the University of Utah, where she received her Master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in Coaching Wellness. Since graduating in 2011, Kenzie has worked primarily in small group training, personal training, and pregnancy and postpartum athleticism. Her main training focus is to strengthen clients both physically and mentally so they can enjoy the activities they love. Once becoming a mom in 2016, she continued her education with a pre and postnatal coaching certification. During the 22 months between her children, she dove headfirst into learning how to train while pregnant and what appropriate steps are necessary to bring the intensity back into training postpartum. She struggled with the stark difference between the quick recovery and the 'bouncing back' mentality our society promotes for postpartum bodies and what she was studying about training with intention. Kenzie is also a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and has been since 2016.

LINDSEY MATTISON

Pilates Instructor

Lindsey loves to educate, inspire and transform curious humans. A creative and sporty upbringing in the Wasatch led her to a BFA in fine art and dance in the Sonoran desert at the University of Arizona. Shortly thereafter, a soccer/dance injury introduced her to Pilates and the glowing world of integrative rehab.

Innumerable adventures northward led her to the land of extremes and prompted her to pursue Pilates as a lifelong prehab endeavor. She was certified to teach Pilates while living in the Chugach Range of Anchorage in 2006. After adopting teaching as a fulfilling career, a personal pivot propelled her back to Utah.

She still revels in teaching the basics and advanced work alike. Methods, mentors, certifications, and deep-dive endeavors encompass an eccentric mix of Pilates, Rolfing, Qi Gong, Dance, Anatomy in Motion, figure drawing, somatics, and Anatomy Trains. Lindsey regards Pilates as a sublime cross-training tool for a little bit of everything. She regularly uses it to hike, bike, ski, print, plant, cook, throw, doodle, paddle and sleep. This winter, she is confident these skills will help her muscle a snowblower at home in Tollgate Canyon.
